I wanted to do a story tale style picture for a very long time. I like the colours and how it turned out, but i hope to do a few more like this in the future. It was a difficult peice to do because i was kinda going over board with all the things i wanted to put in the picture, and it was getting a bit cluttered. so i fixed it up and i hope you like what became of this picture!
Many Thanks:
for the grass base
for the moutains and mist back drop
for the butterfly brushes
for the white Horse
for the little girl
With out all the wonderful stock that they all created i wouldnt have this picture at all so many thanks to them!
it's as if a psychadelic anvil smacked into my head! so eye-poppingly cheerful, lassie! golly where do i begin? Placements-beautiful and cleverly done to ensure that our eyes travel all over the pic and take in everthing and although you've used a lot of bright colours we're not completely overwhelmed by it.Again your 'signature' butterflies are placed very well and i think it's wise of you to have put two along the rainbow. The pink flowers do not take away from them and match well with the girl's socks and balance the vibrance and size of the horse at the other end.
Outstanding figures- Like you said there are so many fairytale elements one can focus upon but i'm glad you kept the concept simple yet detailed in the end. The girl and her faithful steed; i especially like the fact that the tail cant be seen as opposed to fluid swish that we are used to seeing. The mountain range enshrouded in mist adds to the fantastical wonderful aura of a fairytale. the light cotton candy colouring adds a bit of gravity to the picture and i love the ylw/blue detail on the left side.
Colour- purple and green= LOVE ^___^ The only thing that I don't favour much is the pathway which seems to divide the picture, and as it ends perpendicularly with the mist..it's as if the piece is in three parts. However you've used colour well to unify it I like how there is a pattern of beginning and ending with purple The birds are another favourite!
You're doing so well, love, i'm so so proud of you bravo on such a FANTASTIC job angelcake

Oh Wow! this is a great comment i am so happy you took the time to really delve into the scene!
and i am glad you expressed all the details that i thought about when i was making it, and i am glad you brought out the horses tail bit, cause the swish bit is what is normal to see, but i was like should i... and then i thought NO its been done too much, and would be a little predictable. SO thank you :snuggle:
i never thought about he mistyness and i am glad you brought it out! it does make perfect sense.. see when i make these pictures i get stock from other Deviant Art Acount Members, and i saw the backgournd picture and i thought oooowa, the only thing is that at the bottom there was a water scape. so i thought i will add grass. and you know when you say how the trail kinda of divides the picture, what you say is very true, and i think if i were to do it again i would fix that bit maybe meld the path way so that there is no pathway, cause you are deffinitely right!
Thank you very much and i am glad i have been able to balance things so your eyes dont get to confused, which is what i dont want to do. Cause that would be very unbecomming especially in a picture like this.
Thank you so much, and i am very happy you made this comment it tells me that i am doing good and things that i need to work on!
No, thank YOU chillipepper, for giving me the opportunity to really delve into a deviation and take it all in bit by bit. Yeah I did notice the water because of the shoreline wave but it didn't affect the picture as a whole so I didn't think there was any need to remark upon it.
It's great to see you experimenting and challenging yourself and pushing and learning, thank you for taking in my comments love, appreciate it.
Well done again on a btfl piece, keep it up!
